HARBEL Community Organization is seeking an ALCOHOL and DRUG SPECIALIST -ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD
The Addictions Specialist works as part of a professional team whose purpose is to assist families who have been identified as having a newborn child with substance exposure. Provides office management, accurate program analysis and case management support services aimed towards building strong foundations for the successful parenting of newborn children in complex families and high risk environments. Monitors aggregate data points on SEN cases, and provides reports on efficacy of the program. Provides office management support to Child Protective Services supervisors and staff. Working through ongoing assessment and monitoring, the Addictions Specialist works with a social worker and the family to provide case management services aimed towards building strong foundations for the successful parenting of newborn children in complex families and high risk environments. The Addictions Specialist provides wraparound services which address the health and wellbeing of the infant and the family, working from a comprehensive assessment and plan to determine the family strengths and needs for support services.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality, timely documentation.
Work with clients with co-occurring disorders, ensuring they receive comprehensive care.
Monitor client compliance with treatment plans and program requirements.
Maintain open communication with other providers to coordinate client care.
Foster a supportive, empathetic, and team-oriented work environment.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including medical providers and social workers
Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery, and available resources.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Administer approved assessments and interpret the results
Determine level of care placement using ASAM criteria

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Alcohol and Drug Trainee(ADT) or Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CSC-AD/CAC-AD)
Experience in counseling individuals with substance use disorders
Strong skills in clinical documentation
Experience working with community partners and clients with co-occurring disorders
Must possess a harm reduction mindset and be patient-oriented.
Empathetic and a strong team player.
Understanding of addiction, recovery processes, and treatment modalities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Familiarity with all levels of care
