The Center for Harm Reduction Services in the Maryland Department of health has a full-time contractual position available for an OEND Coordinator (Community Health Educator III). The position will support the Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution work of the Center. This will include community training, naloxone stock management, and administrative support for the Overdose Response Program. The position does require a Bachelor's degree. The candidate should have lived experience with substance use. We are seeking someone who is either currently certified, or interested in pursuing certification, as a Peer Recovery Specialist. The position will report to a staff member who is a Certified Peer Recovery Supervisor and can support the candidate in their pursuit of peer certification, if needed. The candidate must be willing to travel throughout Maryland to provide education and dispense naloxone. The deadline for application is 12/16. Please apply online. Responsibilities

Support the management of stocks of naloxone, along with executing protocols for ordering, storing and tracking. This position will oversee naloxone deliveries, including directly delivering naloxone to recipient agencies and individuals. This position will also provide overdose education to these agencies and individuals. Additionally, this position will contribute to the development of outreach plans for naloxone distribution, while cultivating relationships with community partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.
Lived experience with substance use. Currently certified, or interested in pursuing certification, as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
Willing to travel throughout the State of Maryland.
