Substance Abuse Peer Recovery Support Specialist
Two (2) part-time positions available
Flexible hours (preferably evenings and/or weekends)
Support Detainees in their recovery journey
Provide peer support, advocacy and guidance, drawing from their own lived experience
Individual/Group Support: Leading or participating in individual one on one peer support, support groups and psychoeducational sessions
Resource navigation: Helping clients access resources such as housing, employment and benefits
Reporting concerns about health and safety to other members of the mental health team
Maintain client confidentiality
Keep accurate record of client encounters
Perform related work as required.
Be at least 18 years of age
Lived experience with substance abuse
Recovery: Demonstrate a period of recovery from substance use, at least two years
Willingness: Be willing to share your recovery experience with others
Be state certified in peer recovery support
Be able to pass a background check
