Whether we recognize the term Person-Centered Thinking or not, much of the roles and duties of the recovery peer support role revolves around this approach, where the focus of support by the recovery peer specialist is to assist others to obtain positive control over their lives to achieve a life which is satisfying and rewarding to them.
Since this approach/concept is a foundation core value for every recovery peer specialist who wants to support others in recovery, we have allocated 6 training sessions of 3 hours each for a total of 18 hours for this training. Each module will focus upon a different aspect of person-centered thinking using a variety of learning techniques, including a workbook, to ground you in person-centered thinking.

This training will allow you to:
Understand the definition and concept of person-centered thinking
Learn what discovery skills are how to use these skills to support others using person centered thinking
Learn and practice how to use person centered skill together to achieve a deeper understanding
Understand how to create/develop actions respecting other perspectives
