Through this highly interactive, in-person, 40-hour (5 days) training, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the recovery process and how to support people in their recovery process using Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), including how to:
- effectively share WRAP's 5 Key Concepts of Recovery
- facilitate discussions about wellness tools and strategies
- use interaction, presentation styles and strategies that enhance recovery
- model authenticity, unconditional high regard, and a strong set of values and ethics
- work with groups to help them uncover their personal strengths and discover how they can use these strengths to support their recovery and wellness
- empower and motivate people to work toward recovery – feeling the way they want to feel, making their lives the way they want them to be, and moving toward meeting their life goals
- facilitate WRAP Seminar 1 course to support individuals and groups in developing their individual WRAP®
Prerequisites: To be eligible to attend this training, participants need to meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Developed and used your own WRAP for at least 6 weeks, and ideally for longer than 6 months
- Completed a WRAP Seminar I (Basic WRAP) group or workshop facilitated by a certified WRAP Facilitator.
- Have strong working knowledge of the components, concepts, and values of WRAP. Seminar 2 focuses on facilitation skills and assumes you are deeply familiar with the basic content of WRAP and peer support.
