Conference Description
With more than 100,000 overdoses last year, the addiction crisis in America has reached a new boiling point, and courageous people – at all levels, from all walks of life – are rising to answer the call. This conference will catalyze a dialog on issues surrounding addiction and our collective response to this pandemic in our community. Tipping the Pain Scale, a feature documentary film following individuals grappling with the current systemic failures of how we have dealt with addiction in communities and their journey to develop and employ new and innovative solutions to the problem will be shown. Community Outreach Volunteer Roz Pichardo, whose story is featured in the film, will speak following the film. Brandee Izquierdo, Executive Director of SAFE Project, will speak and moderate a panel discussion.
