Mental Health First Aid for Peers is an 8-hour course that teaches learners how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps the learner identify, understand and respond to the signs of addiction and mental illness. Anyone, anywhere can be the one to make a difference in the life of someone with a mental health and/or substance use challenge: if they know what to do and what to say. This training will be tailored to the specific needs of the Peer Recovery Coach and the use of this information in the Peer role. This training will provide 8 CEUs in the following domains: Advocacy-1; Ethics-1; Mentoring and Education-2.5; and Recovery and Wellness-3.5.
