Mentoring & Education for Peer Recovery Specialists is a 10-hour in-person training that provides participants with the knowledge and skills to become certified in Maryland. Participants will learn how to: practice self-care; educate others through shared experiences; support the development of healthy behavior based on choice; assist clients in establishing and maintaining healthy relationships; support the development of communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills; and facilitate effective support groups. The training is interactive and includes discussion, role play, and written exercises.
Participants must be Prince George’s County residents or work/volunteer at an agency or organization in Prince George’s County.
