ACR is looking for a Peer Recovery specialist to promote wellness by removing barriers and obstacles to recovery and by serving as a personal guide and mentor for people struggling with Substance Use Disorder and/or seeking Recovery Support Services.
WHO ARE WE
ACR is a 501(C)3 grassroots, nonprofit organization established in 2001. ACR primarily serves Harford County, Maryland. While its focus remains on Harford County ACR recognizes that the devastation of addiction is not limited by geographical boundaries.
ACR was established in response to the emerging heroin and drug crises in Harford County. Since then, ACR has connected and continues to connect to treatment and recovery services for people in addiction and their families.
ACR serves as an advocate to improve public policies and services for those involved with substance use disorders.
Connect with Peers in active addiction, treatment facilities, and organized living facilities.
Entering Peer encounters into ACR EMR Database and spreadsheet.
Maintaining an organized Peer Case Load and engaging with the individuals for up to but not limited to a year.
Weekly Follow-Up Calls.
Staying aware of changes in the community of treatment services, recovery events, and services that can benefit the individuals ACR work with.
Working toward Peer Certification Through the State.
Flexible Schedule
Transportation services
Completing intake on clients and obtaining the releases of information from providers.
Have a Primary History of Substance Use Disorder.
18 years of age or older.
CCAR RCA Certified and/or at least 3 months of experience in the Behavioral Health Feild.
Have the ability to or in the process to obtain certification through the State of Maryland as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.
Have the ability to work in a team-oriented work environment.
Have a valid driver's license.
Have the ability to deescalate or operate in a high-stress environment.
