This introductory course provides an overview of advocacy and community organizing tailored for Peer Recovery Specialists. Participants will explore the importance of advocacy in recovery support, including how to amplify the voices of those in recovery and advocate for policy changes that improve access to resources. The course will cover basic organizing tactics, coalition-building, and strategies to engage community members in meaningful, collective action. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, participants will gain the confidence to take on advocacy roles within their communities and become agents of change.
