Community Mobilization & Advocacy is an interactive training designed to empower participants with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to engage communities, build collective power, and advocate effectively for systemic change. Participants explore foundational concepts including the differences between community mobilization, social mobilization, and advocacy, and examine the elements of successful community organizing. Through strength-based strategies, participatory approaches, and real-world case studies, learners develop practical skills for mobilizing resources, engaging stakeholders, and promoting public policy and environmental change. This training places a special emphasis on working with systemically marginalized communities and tailoring mobilization efforts to local context. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to apply principles of community development, strategic sharing, and stakeholder engagement to drive meaningful and sustainable change.

• Define community mobilization and distinguish it from social mobilization and advocacy
• Explain why and when to use community mobilization strategies for public health and social change
• Identify the key elements and approaches for successful community organizing
• Describe strength-based strategies such as Appreciative Inquiry, Assets-Based Approaches, and Positive Deviance.
• Understand the roles of external organizations and effective mobilizers in community work.
