Participants in this workshop will review the four basic communication styles and apply them to peer support in residential and other treatment settings. People in the early stages of abstinence or recovery often struggle with emotional regulation and it is the role of peer support to listen and communicate empathetically and assertively.
This workshop will allow opportunities to practice healthy communication. Once completed participants will receive 2.5 CEU in Mentoring/Education towards the Maryland Certified Peer Support Specialist credential.
