This training offers a compassionate and realistic approach to wellness that prioritizes individual autonomy and practical safety. Moving beyond moralistic or punitive perspectives, this training reframes substance use and other health behaviors through a health-centered lens, focusing on a "Just Say Know" philosophy rather than "Just Say No". Participants will explore how pragmatic recovery serves as a non-judgmental, person-centered modality that acknowledges personal choice and empowers individuals to reduce the negative impacts of their actions while pursuing a life of meaning, purpose, and strength.

This session provides actionable strategies and explores a wide range of applications. Attendees will learn about critical tools and Maryland-specific resources, including the Good Samaritan Law, naloxone access, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs). Designed to foster an inclusive and supportive environment, the training emphasizes that everyone has a right to safety and comfort, offering the knowledge and community connections needed to navigate risks effectively and improve overall quality of life.
