Bio
My name is Royanda Newcomb and I have over thirty years of lived experience in dealing with mental health. My passion is guiding others who would like to start their recovery journey. I have experience in working with individuals in forensic settings and those who are working hard to develop recovery plans using the WRAP process. I know how hard it is to find a recovery process that works for you as an individual and can assist with showing the value of starting that process. As someone with lived experience in dealing with trauma I can relate to the concerns of someone dealing with trauma. I have extensive training in de-escalation during crisis and can demonstrate the value of using positive resources and support to overcome difficult and paralyzing experiences in life. I facilitate groups that empower and encourage not only change but the ability to maintain those changes. My most import ability as a CPRS, i-FPRS is my listening skills. Listening allows me to be informed of the needs of the peer to build rapport, provide positive guidance and endorse the changes that a peer would like to make. Being a CPRS, i-FPRS has given me the ability to pay it forward every day.
